MW Mobile Blog
For friends, family and the random search engine visitor. This blog started as an experiment in mobile blogging from my Palm TREO 600, 700, Prē, HTC Evo, Samsung 5, Pixel 3, Pixel 6 Pro, Pixel 9 Pro XL. Now it serves as a simple repository of favorite activities. Expect bad golf, good fishing, great sailing, eating, drinking, adventure travel, occasional politics and anything else I find interesting along the way including, but not limited to, any of the labels listed here...

We have wood.

HW wants to move the stack into thewoodshed. I'll wait until he gets here.
More importantly, we can immediately return to our profligate wood-burning, global-warming-inducing ways.
NOTE: Verizon is refusing to accept mms uploads from my TREO now, even though it worked yesterday. So I am back to the old technique of downloading images and posting from my laptop. This means less timely but better quality pictures.
Morning at Shag
arrive at O:DARK:30 last night. Camp looked good. Got a fire going with barely adequate kindling. Watched the Packers lose on Sunday night football.
It is a bit early for color, started but not peaked yet. Maple tree on south has turned. Maple tree by lake has not.

Green Bay
Usually it smells really bad here, but the lingering stench of the Bears loss to TB was so bad I did not notice as we drove through.

Some reading material for the flight.
I think Freddoso is the author that the Obama campaign asked supporters to shout down at a WGN interview. Attempting to intimidate, shout down, and silence critics is all part of the "new politics" that Barack Obama represents I guess. I never would have heard of this guy or this book otherwise. Because of that publicity, I decided to pay full retail for his book in the airport newstand. Hat tip to the Obama campaign for calling it to my attention.

Team Erickson Golfing in Sweden

Instead they sent me pictures and video of them golfing, then demanded I post them on my blog.
What is wrong with these people?

Apres-Museums
After visiting three museums ending up with the Frida Kahlo exhibit at SF MOMA, we walked across the street to Yerba Buena Gardens and finished the day at "B" for happy hour and oysters.
Great day.
Then to the SF MOMA for Frida
We finished the day at the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art to see the Frida Kahlo exhibit. It was great.
Photos are not allowed in the Kahlo exhibit, but pictures of this installation in the Contemporary China Art exhibit next door was fine.
We didn't ask if it was ok to take pictures of this one.

Next the de Young Museum in Golden Gate Park
Where we checked out the Chihuly glass exhibition.
It was impressive.
Our local SF Chronicle art critic hated it. But his view was not unanimous.
