I walked down to the Civic Center to join the SF Giants World Series Celebration...
As promised - a photo essay of a happy day in The City on the day after the mid-term election.

It was fun to see the crowd and experience the scene, but...
... it was a lot more comfortable watching it at Shanghai Kelly's with a perfect Guinness pour. I had to leave when the TV broadcasters started going on and on about the "long suffering Giants fans" deserving this title. Hey I am happy to celebrate with my adopted city on a great World Series Championship. But, as a Cub fan, nothing grates on my nerves quite like hearing anyone else moaning about a World Series drought.Haley's comet has come and gone twice since the last time the Cubs won the World Series.
Nuff said.

Nice. You lasted longer than I did, which was all of about 30 minutes, before walking to the Bell Tower on upper Polk Street. It was a blast watching it there, since the event in the plaza was more made-for-TV just in terms of sound and sight lines. Glad you enjoyed my neighborhood.
Yeah, your neighborhood is always entertaining. I think this is the third or fourth time time we've both blogged the same Civic Center event. And I walked past you at the Bell Tower to get that beer at Shanghai Kellys. At some point, I expect we will experience a head on blog collision. Hopefully that will not open a rift in the intertube space-time continuum.
Dear mw: Actually, I'd like to play golf with you at Sharp Park sometime. I love that course even though it's hard.
