MW Mobile Blog

For friends, family and the random search engine visitor. This blog started as an experiment in mobile blogging from my Palm TREO 600, 700, Prē, HTC Evo, Samsung 5, Pixel 3, Pixel 6 Pro. Now it serves as a simple repository of favorite activities. Expect bad golf, good fishing, great sailing, eating, drinking, adventure travel, occasional politics and anything else I find interesting along the way including, but not limited to, any of the labels listed here...

19th Hole

My score was bad, but the Reuben was good.

Apparently the Breakthrough will wait for another day.

Brad & Bob from the 17th tee

I am not sure what happened to Bob in this image...

... apparently the camera failed to pickup his lightning fast swing.

Joe and I chose to play the 16th hole from the 17th Fairway.

Because we can.

... on 14.

Brad three-putting on 10...

... for his double bogey. We were waiting again on 11, so fortunately he had time to procure a scotch at the clubhouse to settle his nerves.

At the turn on the 9th green.

The scorecard was shot somewhat later, as I was neglecting my blogging duties. Just too emotionally distraught over my 3 eights on the front.
I also neglected to capture Joe's birdie on 8, so I'll mention that here:

Joe got a birdie on 8.

I was happy for him.

Bob makes it out of the trap on 7 ...

.... eventually.

Takes him three to get out, then he sinks a 30 foot putt. Golf is a weird game.

Brad is lining up another birdie putt on 6...

He doesn't make most of them, but he gets more opportunities than the rest of us (Film at eleven):

But I am not bitter.

5th hole

A long par three through a gauntlet of trees. We did not cover ourselves in glory on this hole.

Live Blogging Sharp Park

Playing with Bob, Brad, Joe.

Drove through a lot of fog on Hiway One coming into Pacifica, but it turned into a beautiful, sunny, windy,  (and slow) day on the course.

Day 2 of my Muni Marathon.

19th Hole at the Tee Off

We decided to change our venue for Apres-Golf to the Tee Off on Clement. After the Mikes lost the lunch bet to the Not-Mikes on Brad's miraculous finish, Mike O suddenly recalled that he had an appointment in Sacramento.  That left this Mike holding the bag, literally. The Tee-Off is still recovering from a kitchen fire, so, at the bartenders suggestion. We  ordered Bento boxes from the Japanese restaurant next door, and they delivered them to us back to the bar. We ate, drank and pretended to be interested in the soccer game while drinking a Guinness.

I can't complain about the round. This may be the Breakthrough I've been waiting for.

Brad's 3rd shot to 18th green from the 13th green.

I am not sure what he is doing over there.

However, he makes a brilliant shot, over my head,  to 20 feet from the pin, then makes the putt for the par. The Not-Mikes beat the Mikes for lunch with that putt.

17th Hole...

Will admires Brad's tee shot to 12 feet on 17. And he got the bird.

Mike (Oz) off the tee on 8

He missed the green, but up and in for a par. We are playing Hi Lo with the Mikes against the Non-Mikes for lunch.

His par gave us a decisive lead heading into the turn.

6th Hole

We tee off under the watchful gaze of the golf gods...

Fortunately, my slice returned when it was needed on this big dogleg right.

5th Hole...

The number 1 handicap on the course. Got a bogey.

In this wind,  bogeys were good.

My drive on 2...

... almost made it to the green. From the tips. With a wind assist.

245 yards in one swing to get this close. Then it took me three more swings to get the ball into the hole  from here. Golf is a weird game.

Semi-Live Blogging Lincoln Park

It's  a windy blustery day. I was not going to blog this round but I am doing well so I changed my mind. Playing with Brad, will, and Oz. Here, in the company of the golf gods on the roof of the Legion of Honor.
