For friends, family and the random search engine visitor. This blog started as an experiment in mobile blogging from my Palm TREO 600, 700, Prē, HTC Evo, Samsung 5, Pixel 3, Pixel 6 Pro. Now it serves as a simple repository of favorite activities. I Wish They All Could Be California Pizza

The abalone season reopens on Saturday. Ocean conditions looked promising. Fishing license was purchased, equipment checked out, floats filled with air and weights staged in the cove. Now we had some time to kill. We decided to make pizza.

Two things about this -
  • Although I am from Chicago, and love  and- in fact - often crave traditional Chicago foods like Italian Beef and Chicago-styles Hot Dogs, I've learned to appreciate and even prefer the California Style wood fired stone oven pizza to the Chicago deep dish pizza.
  • There is an outdoor wood fired stone pizza oven at the Ab Shack. Likely the only one at Sea Ranch. Possibly it's the only one on the California coast north of Bodega.

So - I learned how to make California style wood fired stone oven pizza.

And it was good.

Very, very good.

It's better.
